Systune vs DaisyDisk

Go from disk space to the rest of your Mac.

By Systune · Updated

Which should you choose?

Choose Systune’s planned workflow when storage cleanup is one part of a broader job that includes security checks and macOS settings. Choose DaisyDisk for a released, focused disk analyzer with remote cloud-storage scanning and a lower listed purchase price. Both offer visual disk exploration; Systune has no remote cloud-storage connectors.

Why choose Systune’s approach?

Systune connects two different questions: what is using the disk, and what can you deliberately remove? Disk views help you investigate. The cleanup workflow then groups known categories, labels their risks and shows the proposed items before confirmation. Large files are not automatically junk, and a large total is not an instruction to delete it.

A broader toolbox matters when the storage problem is only the start. Systune also examines security configuration, inspects startup items and groups macOS preferences with snapshots. CLI and TUI interfaces make the same core available to people who prefer terminal workflows.

If those are jobs you want to do together, Systune’s scope is a reason to consider it. If you only need a disk map, the extra scope may not justify paying more or waiting for launch. We have not measured scan speed against DaisyDisk and do not claim Systune is faster.

Where DaisyDisk is ahead

DaisyDisk can inspect connected cloud accounts remotely. Systune currently has no equivalent provider integration; analyzing a locally synced folder is not the same capability. That makes DaisyDisk the clearer choice when your main problem is storage inside a supported cloud account. [2]

Its listed US$9.99 one-time price is lower than Systune’s planned US$39, and its published personal license covers up to five Macs. It is already released. Check the current vendor price and terms before buying. [1]

Compare storage numbers carefully

Disk totals depend on what is readable and what the number measures. APFS can share storage between files and volumes; apparent file sizes and physically reclaimable bytes need not agree. A permission-limited scan also has a different scope from a scan with additional access.

Systune is still improving the explanation of free and purgeable space across its interfaces. Until that work is validated, we do not claim its totals are more accurate than DaisyDisk’s. Compare the same disk, permissions and scan scope, and measure actual free-space changes separately from a proposed cleanup total.

Questions about Systune and DaisyDisk

Can Systune scan my cloud storage like DaisyDisk?

Systune does not currently connect to remote cloud-storage providers. It can analyze local files; that does not inventory an entire remote account. DaisyDisk documents remote scanning for supported providers.

Is DaisyDisk cheaper than Systune?

At the official price checked October 17, 2026, DaisyDisk lists US$9.99 once. Systune’s planned direct launch price is US$39 once. They cover different feature scopes and license allowances.

Is Systune faster than DaisyDisk?

We have not run a controlled comparative benchmark and do not claim a speed advantage. Systune’s differentiation is its broader reviewed cleanup, audit, tuning and terminal workflow.
